People Merged into Firestorm
Individuals that have joined
Jason Rusch in the Firestorm matrix:
- Ronnie Raymond - Jason gained his powers by being entered by the dieing Ronnie Raymond, the previous Firestorm. This was not a Firestorm merger as seen in other occasions, however.
- "Gordon" - Jason merged with a thug during a firefight shortly after receiving his powers. While not named in the book, the issue #1 script used the placeholder name of "Gordon" for the character. Gordon had apparently been shot, but was healed as a result of the merger. See FS3 #1-2.
- Stevie Golek - After stabbing Jason, Stevie became merged into Firestorm. After staying in the matrix for too long, Stevie dissolved into the matrix and died. See FS3 #2-3.
- Unnamed Individuals - In FS3 #4, it is strongly hinted that Jason experimented with his powers during the preceding month. He is now confident that he will not repeat the fatal accident that killed Stevie.
- Preston - A homeless man that lives in a local park. Alarmed at first, Preston thoroughly enjoyed flying with Jason and offered him some wise advise about living up to his potential. Formerly a salesman and a good judge of character, Preston recognized that Casey Krinski was dangerous long before Jason did. In his brief appearance, Preston became a fan favorite. See FS3 #4.
- Nicole Garcia - A policewoman with whom Jason merged while she was jogging through the park. Both awed by the experience and angry with Jason, she pointed out to Jason that he was kidnapping and was becoming addicted to his powers. She assisted Jason during their fight with the giant stone version of Casey. She was completed awed by their encounter with Superman, but ultimately concluded that Jason was way in over his head. See FS3 #4.
- Mick Wong - Jason avoided his best friend Mick for several weeks after becoming Firestorm. When Mick confronted Jason, Jason choose to merge with Mick to explain his absence. Together, the two engaged in a few questionable activities and visited the JLA Watchtower. See FS3 #6.
- Luis Salvador - Jason merged with drug king Luis Salvador who had taken the Rusches captive in order to learn about Stevie Golek's death. Luis overpowered Jason and took control of Firestorm and went on a rampage. Between Travis Clevenger's assault from the outside and Jason's attack from within, Luis was subdued and the merger ended. See FS3 #7.
- Travis Clevenger - Almost, but not quite. Jason attempted to merge with Travis, but he resisted through willpower. See Bloodhound #5.
- Unnamed Henchman of Luis Salvador - To leave the scene of the showdown between Jason, Clevenger and Luis's gang, Jason merged with one of Luis's men. Briefly mentioned in Bloodhound #5.
- Fredo Burleson - Jason borrowed another homeless man, Fredo, to try to do some superheroing. Fredo proved to be an easy-going but morally questionable companion. He was with Jason when they encountered Killer Frost. See FS3 #8-9.
- Lorraine Reilly - When Lorraine insisted that Jason return to confront Killer Frost, Jason merged with her against her will. Out of the merge arose Ronnie Raymond. See FS3 #9.
- Dr. Kennedy - Taking Dr. Otaki's advice, Jason merged with Dr. Kennedy, head of Detroit's S.T.A.R. labs, to make use of her knowledge to defeat The Pionic Man. See FS3 #16.
- Unnamed Homeless Man - As much of Jason's life seemed to be unravelling, he turned into Firestorm out of frustration, unintentionally drawing in a homeless man. Jason was quick to release him. Upon hearing some of the man's troubles, Jason realized that his life wasn't so terrible. See FS3 #18.
- Unnamed White Guy - Reacting to sirens, Jason merged with a man on the street to help put out the fire. During their merger, though, Jason didn't feel right. This turned out to be the result of the man's antidepressants. See FS3 #19.
- Mick Wong - Again! Jason merged with Mick to convince him that he was indeed Firestorm. This version of Firestorm was summoned to accompany Donna Troy on a mission into space during Infinite Crisis. During this mission, Mick died. See FS3 #19-20 and Infinite Crisis #2-4.
- Martin Stein - After saving Jason from death in deep space, Martin reluctantly agrees to join Jason as a partner in Firestorm. See FS3 #21.
- Lorraine Reilly - A year after the universal crisis, Jason was obligated to ask Lorraine to be his partner after the disappearance of Martin Stein. See FS3 #23.
